Prof. E. S. Dwarakadasa, an acclaimed academician and renowned metallurgist has been a driving force behind the Company’s growth

He led KHMDL as the CEO, MD, CMD and Chairman to its current state of development and presently guiding as Chairman Emeritus. With his academic background, he ensured that KHMDL excelled in technical capability. He was able to solve several material problems and contributed to product development.

During his association with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore at the Department of Metallurgy he authored over 180 papers and has written over 16 books and monographs. He has guided 28 PhD’s and 40 M.Sc. (Engineering) students. He is a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Metals, National Academy of Engineering, Electrochemical Society of India, Aeronautical Society of India and a Founder Member of the Aluminium Association of India. He has been honoured with the Best Metallurgist Award by Ministry of Steel and Mines and the Indian Institute of Metals (1990), Metaserve International Award for excellence in electron microscopy, Institute of Metallurgists, London (1981), Hindustan Zinc Gold Medal (2000) and the NALCO Gold Medal (2006). Engineer of the Yeard, Institution of Engineers (India) 2014.

He has contributed greatly to the social welfare in his personal capacity as well as through his foundation. He is an active member of the Parkinson’s Society of Karnataka. Child Education is his hobby.
